Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. The shea tree that grows in the savannah of West Africa. It's also known locally as the "butter tree", it produces a fruit with a sweet pulp that resembles a small avocado. The butter is extracted from an edible seed that has the shape of an almond and is found in the heart of the fruit.
Used in sacred rituals in Africa and more commonly in beauty worldwide, its notoriety and export growth are due to its many therapeutic and nutritional benefits. Shea butter has indeed incredible virtues to take care of oneself.
Our shea butter is produced in Guinea by local women producers with the NGO KDF which ensures a fair remuneration for these women.
